Co-Founder Mary Ellen Hollis experienced multiple sexual trauma events first, as a child and then as a teenager & young adult. For years she felt “stuck” emotionally, trapped in a cycle of worthlessness and felt she had deserved and chose what happened. These feelings were her “normal” & she believed she would never be able to fully experience life. When her daughter, Sarah, began her holistic trauma treatment, Mary Ellen, in her late fifties, began to learn about Complex Trauma & recognized herself as being a victim of sexual abuse rather than choosing or deserving what happened. Because of Sarah’s bravery & dedication to her recovery, Mary Ellen faced her own trauma and began her road to recovery & now is FREE from the cycle of trauma!

Mary Ellen & Sarah, mother and daughter, with shared experiences of abuse, said “No More”! Their shared vision, along with the support and encouragement of their family and close friends, came together and founded Mercy Mountain Foundation to provide the needed resources and support for trapped women in abusive situations to end their cycle of trauma and live free.

Mary Ellen, with her professional business experience & shared experiences of sexual trauma allows her to support her daughter, Sarah, in furthering the mission of Mercy Mountain Foundation to provide holistic recovery & treatment services to traumatized women.
